A reared heifer is worth a lot more than a year of Calfmate. We don’t use that to promise fewer deaths. We use it so A$99 has something to sit against.

Questions farms actually ask
Will it work with no internet?
Shed work on the Android app does. Feeds, flags, calvings, new calves and jobs save on the Android phone and sync later. Treatments and tag scans need signal. The website needs internet. Ask Mate needs a connection on both.
We already have Easy Dairy / herd software. Why another system?
Calfmate is the shed layer — the 6am run, flags, treatments and jobs. It does not replace Easy Dairy or herd software. You can import a CSV. Easy Dairy files work if they have an ID column. There is no live Easy Dairy connection.
Will staff use it?
The daily work is a feeding run: mark the pen fed, flag a calf, pick your name on a shared tablet. The 30-day trial is how you find out on your shed. No credit card.
Is it per user or per calf?
No. One farm, one plan, unlimited calves and unlimited staff. No per-seat fees.
How long does setup take?
Register takes a couple of minutes. Naming the farm, adding pens and setting milk is about five minutes. Adding the calves you already have takes as long as the list — or import a CSV.
Is there an iPhone app?
Not yet. Calfmate is the website plus an Android shed app. On iPhone you can use the website when you have internet. The app that keeps working with no signal is Android.
How do I get the phone app?
After you register, open the phone-app page on the Android phone or tablet and tap Download the phone app. When Android warns about an unknown source, allow it, then install. Same login as the website.
What is Ask Mate?
An optional helper on the website and the current Android app. It looks up this farm’s records and can draft a log. You confirm every save. It is not a vet. It does not invent calf IDs. It needs a connection.
Does it tell me what drug to use?
No. Treatment protocols are set up by the farm. Check every drug, dose and withdrawal against the label and your vet. Calfmate is a record-keeping tool.
Can I print records?
Yes. You can print or save PDF records from Calves and Reports — including colostrum, treatments, withdrawals and deaths. These are your records, not a certified audit pack.
What happens to our data?
Each farm only sees its own records. You can print or save PDFs. After a trial ends, records stay for 60 days, then we can delete them if you do not subscribe. See the privacy policy.
What happens after 30 days?
After the trial you have 7 more days of full access. Then you can still read your records, but you need to subscribe to add new ones. Records stay for 60 days from the trial end, then we can delete them. A$99 a month or A$990 a year. Cancel anytime.
Can I cancel?
Yes. Cancel anytime.
